Part I: Painting my leather-ottoman-seat cover-headboard
I went to Michael's arts & crafts supply store, looking for a spray
paint that would work well on my DIY leather-ottoman-seat cover-headboard. (it's kind of a mouth full.) Originally, I had plans of reupholstering the headboard.. but I thought against it since it was proving to be difficult.
I came across this multi-purpose spray paint called 'Liquitex.' I walked around the store looking for an employee that would be able to answer some of my questions regarding the product, but with no such luck- I did a quick google search and bought the spray paint anyway since it was water-based.. I figured I'd do a spot test on the back of the seat and if it didn't work out - I'd use the spray to stencil my wall. (If you recall in my last post, I was having difficulty and tiring myself out stenciling my wall using a paint roller.)
Well, this stuff works! Not only did it pass the leather spot test, it made my job to stencil my wall so much EASIER. Here's what the leather-ottoman-seat cover-headboard looks like with two even coatings of the spray paint. I need to buy a few more cans to add one last coating to my headboard, and to get stenciling.

Interior Design: Parisian dreams
Ramadan Mubarak
As I get situated back into the ol' city life, and 17hr long fasts - I thought I'd update my blog and say hello.
I did some shopping during my vacation in Florida and it was mostly for home decor! I definitely have a vision of what I want my new room to look like, the challenge is to get it all done before college reopens. I have plenty of DIY projects planned- like a headboard made out of an old ottoman seat. (My family thinks I'm nuts) But first, I need to finish stenciling my wall insha'Allah.
Here's a picture of my inspiration:

Interior Design: Paint War
The endless move is finally over! We've unpacked boxes and put away majority of our stuff. I seriously don't think you realize how much stuff you own, until you move. I am so glad that's over. Anywho, my sister and I went paint shopping at Home Depot the other day & pretty much wrestled over paint choice.

Thank you!
I felt it was necessary to take some time out to welcome those who have visited and/or joined my blog in the past couple of days. The traffic I've received is truly incredible Alhumdulilah, and I am absolutely humbled. I don't think I can begin to explain the joy of going from 30 clicks a week to receiving over 2,000 clicks in just one day. CRAY. I knew I had some wild, far-fetched dreams when I started this blog thingy, but this has definitely motivated me to keep an optimistic outlook on the future. I just want to thank my friend who helped spread the word, I really didn't imagine it would go as far as it did so thank you, Sumeyye. You made my year.
To all those who are visiting, feel free to add to the excitement by clicking the join or follow button.
Thank you.

DIY: Bib Necklace
Ever notice how pricey beaded bib necklaces can be? I've seen some that range from $39 to over a few hundred dollars. Here's a quick DIY to help you get one of your own- on the cheap.
Here's what you'll need:
-Neck applique (I bought mine from Etsy, they sell so many for as cheap as $5!)
-Craft ribbon (I cut two equal strands of scrap leather I had laying around)
-Sewing needle
-Thread
-Pair of scissors
-Hot glue gun (optional)

Celebrity inspired look (Fall 2011)
I died when I saw Nicole Scherzinger rocking this stunning high-neck white lace blouse in X-Factor. It's so pretty with its pleated batwing/billowing sleeves. I've never quite seen a lace top like this before, and to be honest I haven't been crazy about the long sleeved lace tops I've been seeing everywhere.. Now, with a little hard work and dedication, I have my own.
Here's a little glimpse of what it looks like (second picture is true to color.) It doesn't have hanger appeal but it looks great on.
